grandparents were Russian Orthodox......they were fiercly and reverently religious, attending church most days of the week. They spent most of their days just trying to survive, and the church and religion and god were there refuge. Yet within church, the negative things that were preached at them and drilled into their very being were so negative by our thinking and intellect. Damn-nation, hell, sins.............if you seek to avoid such acts and sins, lead a good orderly life, you can avoid hell and travel to the ever after with the positive gods.........Is that where they are now? Did they make it after-all? Was their effort worth it? have they come back in some other way? are they watching and influencing us today? Or was it the method of keeping society in line and uniformity,with order........Power grab? give me(the church) some of you money as I make you feel good about your self.
